About
Entertaining on the Porch encourages hospitality with family and friends.
Opening your home and heart with delicious food creates a space for life-long memories. And I've learned that even the simplest preparations can lead to a beautiful experience. You don't have to spend a ton of money or have a perfectly decorated home; you just need to invite.
Hello, I'm Diana. I’m a foodie and writer living in the forest overlooking a creek in the mountains of North Carolina. My desire is to offer unexpectedly delicious recipes for entertaining and everyday meals. Plus, ideas on how to set the scene in our own space, whether on your porch, in the garden, around the kitchen island, or at your living room table.
Entertaining is more than just a show or a party; it's about sharing a piece of yourself and your heart with others in a way that helps them feel more connected. Food is a powerful vehicle that helps soothe our souls and leads to fun and meaningful conversations around the table.
Home is where the heart is, and hospitality is the best way to form connections and nurture important relationships in your life.

Paris with Mom
This blog is in honor of my mom, who passed away from Alzheimer's Disease in July of 2021.
She was the one who encouraged my love of entertaining and dinners on the porch.
Hello Diana, I want to pass on my sincere condolences about your Mum, her illness and her passing. A dear Uncle is in the final stages of his battle and it is gut wrenching to watch but oh, what a privilege too that we can be with them and share our love and compassion. I love your description of what you want to accomplish with this blog and I feel deeply about service, legacy and how essential beauty is in our lives. I live in country Australia but my husband has spent a bit of time for work in your beautiful part of the world. I look forward to all you have to offer. All the best, Cate Nunan.
